About Jake Riegert

I am a graduate of The Ohio State University with a B.S. in Computer Science and Engineering specializing in Artificial Intelligence. I am currently working as a Software Engineer at Capital One in Atlanta, Georgia.My current team is responsible for full stack development on features for our agent servicing and customer facing web apps. This role requires me to be a dynamic engineer because our contributions can vary between different coding languages and architectures. One application uses Angular, Typescript in a monolith architecture. While another uses Vue 3 and NodeJS in a micro servicing architecture. This role has led me to be adaptive and constantly learning in order to be an effective engineer.My former team was responsible for credit card settlements for all of our partner company credit cards. Partner credit cards including Walmart, Williams Sonoma, Neiman Marcus etc. The tech stack ran bulk batch processing jobs on files to settle billions of dollars worth of transactions yearly. using Python, AWS Lambda, S3 and ECS to stream transactions data to Kafka and Snowflake.Summer of 2020 I interned remotely with Capital One. My team of fellow interns and I converted an existing API to use AWS\'s Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) helping customers retrieve their data faster when looking for different Credit Card policies. We used GoLang and various AWS functionalities to help us complete this project as well as many of Capital One\'s various in house development tools to test the application.Summer of 2019 I interned with The Cincinnati Insurance Companies developing a ground up web application that changed how the resource management department kept track of the company’s entire information technology department. This project used SQL as the database, C#(.NET) as the back-end and Angular as the front-end.I have 6+ years of experience coding with 2+ of those years in a professional setting in a variety of programming languages and tools including GoLang, AWS, Java, JavaScript, Python.NET, HTML, CSS, Ruby (and Ruby on Rails), C, C++, C#, SQL, Angular and Unity.If you wish to reach me, my email is j••••••••@gmail.com
