I work with small groups to individuals to better prepare them for their school subjects. I work with kids to help them become more comfortable in the topics they are covering in school and to introduce them to what they will be covering next. I also prepare kids to take standardized test like Cambridge Starters, Movers, and Flyers, KET, PET, PSAT, SAT, TOEFL, IELTS, and BMAT.

ABOUT JAKE KERCKAERT
Teaching was a way to get me out of the US and to see a new country. I had only planned on staying in Thailand for a year, but that turned into two years, and now three. I just entered my 4th year in Thailand and this will be my last. I will be returning to the US in the next year to figure out something new to do with my life. It was hard at first to learn the style of teaching at my first school. After the first 6 months, I thought that I wouldn\'t be able to continue. They kept me on and gave me different classes that they thought I would be better suited for. That made a huge difference. I became more confident and tried new things with the kids until I found what worked for each class. The classes that I struggled with before started to improve to the point that I would pass each evaluation with only minor suggestions such as, make the dot on the i bigger so that it\'s clearer. After spending two years there, I decided that I needed a change. I came to Bangkok to start a new job which was a big adjustment at work and in life. Teaching at the new school was very different from the old one, and I preferred that style much more. Living in Bangkok and dealing with the heat + traffic took some time to get used to it. I don\'t care for Bangkok, but the job isn\'t bad, so I\'ll deal with it. I am glad that this will be my last year in Thailand. It has been an experience that I thought I would never get, but part of me is ready to go back to the US, even with everything that\'s happening there. How much I miss some things outweighs any trepidation I may feel about going back.
