ABOUT JAKE ISGAR

With Florida State University\'s Student Life Cinema, I programmed films for an on-campus movie theater with attendance of over students per semester. Our mission focused on providing education and entertainment for the student body with diverse programming ranging from blockbusters to independent films and classics to cult classics. As a student admitted into FSU’s Media Production program, I gained practical experience working in a professional sports production environment. My student work landed me a paid position as a producer on two nationally broadcast shows on FSN.Upon moving to Austin, I started an office internship with the Austin Film Society. As an intern I assisted with the day-to-day at the office and staffed events at the Marchesa Hall & Theatre. In January I was promoted to Senior Programming & Editing Intern with the responsibilities of cutting trailers for in-theater & online viewing as well as officiating over the run of show for nightly screenings. At the same time, I began working at Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas in a wide array of positions, ranging from my day-to-day role as a server (and eventually private event lead) to assisting with events at Fantastic Fest, pitching programs to the Drafthouse calendar, and hosting screenings and Q & As with talent. In mid-2016, I moved to a role in the national office splitting time with email-based marketing, customer service, and technical support. In October 2017, I began working as a member of the Austin programming team, with a focus on repertory and indie booking and scheduling across six theaters. This also includes content coordination, copywriting, the occasional operational derring-do. In August 2018, our market size expanded to New Braunfels and San Antonio, bringing the total venue coverage to ten.In April 2019, I accepted a promotion to coordinate programming at the New Mission theater in San Francisco, a restored former movie palace converted into a five-screen venue. In that time, I handled all aspects of social media promotion, event logistics, introductions and Q & As, and film scheduling for 350 individual public engagements alongside our national office while coordinating with our Director of Private Events & Community Engagement. As a result, our market share increased 15% YOY without any expansion of our already limited seat and screen count.Since our venue closed in mid-March due to the COVID pandemic, I am open to any and all opportunities to lend my event coordination, project management, or marketing expertise to any organization, preferably in the Bay Area.
