About Jake Hollowed

My name is Jake Hollowed and I am a recent graduate of The Ohio State University\'s Fisher College of Business majoring in Information Systems. Over the past few years I have gained introductory understanding in a few different disciplines through work experience. At the retail chain, J. Crew, I strove to create very positive relationships with every customer that walked in the door. At J. Crew I was able to see the first steps towards selling and building a clientele. Working for the Department of Public Works for the Village of La Grange was a very different experience. Here I was entrusted to create my own schedule in order to water all flowers in the village three times per week while also learning to safely and successfully operate large, expensive machinery. At Ohio State, I have really enjoyed my time as a member of the Fraternity, Delta Tau Delta. Inside the fraternity, I have joined and subsequently been elected as Co-Chair to the PR/Apparel Committee where working as a team on specific designs, initiating apparel orders with 3rd party companies, and collecting money from students for the respective items are all integral. In addition, being a part of the Finance Committee has really let me experience what it is like to run a small business. Budgeting, planning, and re-budgeting are all apart of the process when dealing with such a large sum of money. In the Summer of 2020, I was fortunate enough to participate in two similar Sophomore-centered events with Cowe LLP (Public Sector Business Unit) and Abercrombie and Fitch (Merchandising). These two companies are in very different industries, but both do fantastic work. It was really interesting and helpful to hear about the different internship positions available and from those full-time associates who were once in my shoes: applying for internships. I am interested in a corporate Information Systems internship where I can apply skills from the vast pool of different work and non-work related experiences I have obtained over the last few years. In my free time, I love to be outside and stay active any way possible. Whether that is through sports, hiking, going to the beach, or biking, it is all so enjoyable.
