I worked as an EMT for Mid-Valley ambulance, a division of Metro West Ambulance in Eugene. I now currently work for Metro West Ambulance in Portland. Metro West and it’s family companies offer a private ambulatory service that typically does code 1 non-emergency transports such as discharges from the hospital, inter-hospital transports and low acuity on scene calls. I assist the paramedic in providing patient care by collecting vitals, getting a blood glucose reading, administering oxygen, hooking the patient to a 4 and 12 lead ECG, helping with the IV set up, charting, and giving a report to the nurse when care is transferred.
