ABOUT JAKE FLOOD
I’m a scientist and entrepreneur who enjoys building tools, workflows, and teams that help synthetic biology move faster and with higher confidence. I’m currently the co-founder of ClutchBio, where we support research teams with DNA construction solutions that scale as they grow.My background spans synthetic and evolutionary biology, with early research interests in metabolic evolution. Over time, I’ve found that evolutionary principles translate naturally to solving real-world engineering challenges in biology, especially when experiments don’t proceed the way we expect.I’m especially energized by working with high-performing teams, mentoring budding scientists, and creating lab systems that scale: efficient processes, strong communication, and fast feedback loops.
