ABOUT JAI SHAH

As a dedicated graduate student in Chemical Engineering at Purdue University, I am passionate about leveraging my education and experience to drive innovation in process engineering and sustainability. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Savitribai Phule Pune University, where I graduated as the Best Outgoing Student with a GPA of 3.49. My technical expertise spans a variety of simulation software, including UniSim, Aspen Plus, and CHEMCAD, as well as analytical instrumentation techniques such as FT-IR, SEM, and UV spectrophotometry. During my Engineering Internship at Vardhan Consulting Engineers, I successfully enhanced combustion efficiency and reduced NOx emissions. Additionally, my role as a vocational trainee at Rastriya Chemical Fertilizers allowed me to optimize wastewater filtration processes, achieving significant improvements in water quality. I am committed to research that addresses real-world challenges. My projects include evaluating biochar from agricultural waste for textile dye removal and developing silver nanoparticles for wastewater treatment, both of which resulted in publications and recognition at international conferences. In addition to my technical skills, I have honed my leadership abilities as the President of the Indian Society for Technical Education, where I organized national events and workshops that promoted student engagement and development.
