In July 2022, I returned to the UK and assumed the role of Software Development Manager at Amazon, leading a team of 13 engineers spanning locations in London and Cambridge. My primary responsibility involves spearheading the development of the core streaming platform for Ring, contributing to the safety of millions of customers globally. Our focus is on maintaining a state-of-the-art implementation of the media server, which is hosted on AWS and adeptly handles one of the largest video traffic volumes worldwide. At the heart of our operations is an unwavering commitment to customer obsession. We continuously enhance the streaming platform, integrating cutting-edge features while prioritizing resource efficiency through a highly elastic infrastructure. This approach ensures that we not only deliver top-tier services but also do so in a cost-effective manner, aligning with Amazon\'s dedication to excellence and innovation.
