About Jaise King
Jaise King is a sophomore at Boston University studying Journalism, Political Science, and African-American Studies, with a passion for civil rights, education equity, and storytelling that sparks civic engagement. Whether I\'m leading a model legislature, directing a nonprofit communications team, or reporting on pertinent political topics, I aim to uplift overlooked narratives and build bridges between young people and institutions of power.As President Pro Tempore of the Academy for Public Service\'s Model Senate, I\'ve authored over 20 original bills and contributed legal briefs to mock Supreme Court cases simulating real-world constitutional issues. I also serve as Communications Director for the Academy, where I lead a 15-member creative and editorial team, curating civic content and designing outreach strategies that connect students with leadership and policy opportunities statewide.At Boston University, I write for the Boston Political Review, serve as a tour ambassador, and co-host WTBU\'s \"Melanin Matters,\" a radio show spotlighting independent Black artists and diasporic issues. Across all my work, I\'m committed to exploring the intersection of policy, identity, and voice.As of now, I am currently seeking opportunities in public policy, legal advocacy, or investigative journalism that focus on systemic change and public impact.
