The solution leverages Levenshtein distance and phonetic algorithms for accurate name matching, supported by a curated rule engine to reduce false positives using multi-identifier validation. Watchlist data is aggregated via scraping and APIs from global regulatory sources, and meticulously curated by an internal data team and AML experts. Delivered a scalable, secure, and compliant system with full-stack observability through OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Loki, Grafana, and InfluxDB—ensuring real-time visibility and operational resilience. Architected and led the development of a cloud-native, AML-compliant Transaction Screening and Monitoring platform, built for high-risk domains including PAPG, crypto, and insurance. Designed to process 10+ million transactions daily with low resource utilization and seamless horizontal scaling.
