About Jaime Crawford
I started my career at Esri, which was really amazing. I had the privilege of taking calls from potential customers across all industries and answer questions about the technology and educate them on how GIS could be applied to solve their problems. This kept me on my toes and required that I understood how the technology worked AND how it could be applied in different situations. As my career evolved from a GIS Analyst making maps, to GIS Project Manager, and then into business development, I decided to take a leap and joined a large system integrator. This took me out of my “GIS comfort zone” and into the realm of large-scale business transformation projects. This was a little scary but extremely challenging and broadened my skills and understanding of enterprise scale technology implementations. I’ve also learned over my 20+ year career that building strong collaborate teams is a key ingredient to a positive work culture and effective teams.Geospatial Technology and Data + Collaborative Teams = AMAZING OUTCOMES I’ve found successful solutions and projects require pulling together the right people, data, technology, and workflows. It’s all about:• Connecting people to the power of place through geospatial technology and data• Connecting business systems and solutions using geospatial technology• Connecting individuals to a team with a common goal and outcome The technology is now available, it’s now up to us to connect it to solve the world’s most pressing problems. The talent is also available, and it’s up to us to create collaborative teams where everyone can bring their whole self and set of experiences to the table, with a laser focus on solving problems.
