Incorporating my creative and design background, I was hired at M&S in the role of a visual merchandiser. Here I would find myself having to regularly restructure store layouts, large scale window displays and designing in-store events. The work I had to carry out would always be in accordance to new store policies which are constructed by the regional team, requiring myself to be able to read and assess these documents in order to implement the policies in to my own store. I would also be required to manage and organise my stores volume of decor and equipment, in order to do so, I would document any new and incoming deliveries we received and stockpile them so that my team would be able to keep track our equipment and decor usage. The importance of doing this is to allow us to ensure my store was receiving the correct decor for the stores grading for future launches as well as allowing us to utilise the correct equipment when altering the store layout.
