About Jaeya Bayani

Jaeya \"Jaeya Bionic\" Bayani is a Filipinx singer-songwriter, Hip-Hop practitioner (popping/boogaloo; emceeing), critical race/intersectional feminism scholar, and music industry professional from the Bay Area, CA. In 2026, she became a Columbia College Chicago summa cum laude graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Business: Recorded Music and Publishing and a Double-Minor in Hip-Hop Studies and Pre-Law Studies. She’s a 2024 GrammyU Ambassador, BMI member, and the 2024 recipient of the Parker Lee Williams Award for Hip-Hop Excellence. For 5 years, she’s established a space in the global Filipino music industry dedicated to uplifting underrepresented creatives through her roles as an Operations Assistant at The Luna Company, LLC (Traverse Music Group & Zion Agency), an Operations Director for Quilt Magazine. She recently transitioned into a Creative Operations Coordinator role for Supervillain, after a wonderful term as Music Publishing Administration Coordinator for Thizzler on the Roof. With her events, marketing, and talent management expertise, Jaeya co-created and co-produced her first Fil-Am event with peer and friend Cali Castillo — Kapwa Chicago Vol. I — at the Rizal Center on April 27th. During this, she secured her first sync deal for \"510\" and \"Believe Me\" in Episode ONE of \"No Room For Love\" by Malou and Randal Kamradt. She’s been featured in multiple blogs, articles, campaigns, and podcasts — not to mention the podcast she cohosted, Movement, Body, & Soul. Jaeya practices movement to connect with her music; she’s studied the funk style, popping, for almost four years, crediting her mentors with the knowledge she’s received.Jaeya released her freshman EP, BAYANI, in June 2023, and has led the lineup for Bay Area, Chicago,+ ATX shows. Her recent career highlights include headlining Darwin’s Piano Bar @ SXSW (03/13/2024) and APAture’s 25th Anniversary Music Showcase @ DNA Lounge by Kearny Street Workshop (10/13/2024). Having studied in the Bay Area and Chicago, Jaeya is a Filipinx-American practitioner of Hip-Hop culture. She blends her consumption of unapologetic, informative flows inspired by local Fil-Am emcees with her lifelong training as an R&B vocalist. Her ultimate goal is to take her music dreams beyond herself, by pursuing a law degree to serve local Filipino/Filipino-American artists who lack adequate legal representation or resources. Jaeya\'s upcoming album, BAYANI, is set for release Summer 2026, in anticipation of her law school career as a Provost Scholar at University of San Francisco School of Law this Fall.
