About Jaer.
I’m a Psychology graduate with a concentration in Mental Health and a minor in Women & Gender Studies, now pursuing graduate studies in School Psychology. My journey into this field is rooted in personal experience and professional purpose. Growing up in an under-resourced school district, I witnessed firsthand how the absence of psychological support can impact a child’s educational and emotional well-being. Today, I’m committed to becoming the kind of school psychologist I once needed: one who sees students in their full context and fights for systems that support their growth.I’ve spent over seven years as a lead teacher in early childhood education, worked on a domestic violence hotline, advocated for menstrual equity and reproductive rights at the legislative level, and now I’m training as a full-spectrum doula. Across all these spaces, one thing remains clear: every child, student, and birthing person deserves to feel safe, supported, and seen.I’m passionate about trauma-informed educational practices, culturally responsive intervention, early childhood development and intervention, and dismantling disparities in both schools and maternal care systems. As a future school psychologist, I aim to bridge gaps between mental health, education, and advocacy, especially for BIPOC, neurodiverse, and LGBTQ+ youth.Let’s connect, especially if you work in education, psychology, student support services, or birth work. I believe in collective care, radical visibility, and community-rooted change!
