About Jad Yahya
A graduate mechanical engineering student. I am looking for entry level job opportunities, and I am particularly interested in a career in automotive systems engineering. My lifelong passion towards the automotive industry and my desire towards leaving a tangible impact on society are key factors towards my interest in this field.My work experience so far is mostly comprised of research experience. I have worked on a multitude of projects which have served to enhance my leadership, communication, delegation and teamwork skills. Moreover, these research projects served to expose me to various aspects of mechanical engineering, including material science, product design and perception and control. Ultimately, these projects greatly enhanced my technical skills, particularly coding using the MATLAB/Simulink environment and Python.My consequent impact on these projects was effective as well. Most notably, as part of my final year project at the American University of Beirut, my team and I were able to successfully track any shape using an autonomous underwater robot, irrespective of the disturbances. Moreover, we strived successfully to minimize deviation from the desired path and decrease computational time. I have worked on extracurricular projects that have greatly enhanced my soft skills. Namely as a team leader on some I was able to become a much better leader with the ability to influence a team to do better. Moreover, my communication skills have improved greatly as a result of this experience.Actively, I am pursuing a master\'s in engineering in mechanical engineering at UC Berkeley and hoping to get straight in the job market after. I hope to be able to secure a position as a vehicle dynamic simulations /controls engineer.
