We must be willing to let go of the life we planned so as to have the life that is waiting for us.\"-Joseph Campbell I believe that every person was born with a burning desire, deeply embedded in them, that has the potential to change the world, and through hard work, determination, and perseverance, they can accomplish their goals. My experience with volunteering in the Southampton Village Ambulance has taught me just how much each person can make an impact in the world, but it is largely up to them to decide how and if they will. One characteristic about me that sets me apart from others is that I am determined. When I set my mind to something, there is nothing that can get in the way of me accomplishing my goal. I am enthralled and drawn to the business world, particularly in areas of finance and entrepreneurship, and thus I am studying at the University of Miami, in the school of business. I am studying Finance and Accounting, Spanish, and a minor in Arabic. I believe that language has a key role in the business world, as communication allows ideas to be turned into reality, and what better way to do that then learn languages and cultures across the world? My academic determination is exemplified by my recognition as a Horatio Alger National Scholar (see details in the award section), and my course history from Southampton High School, as I graduated Summa Cum Laude from my high school class. However, my determination extends far beyond my achievements in the classroom, as I participated in County Championships for track and field as well as tennis.
