ABOUT JACQUI PAYNE
In 20••••24 I completed a year\'s secondment as Acting Director of Careers and Employability, leading a team of circa 35 staff. Back in my substantive role, I work in the Careers Centre at the University of Reading, managing engagement with students via our front line team and via a comprehensive events programme of workshops and careers fairs. In this and previous roles I have worked closely with employers regarding their recruitment needs (and previously their Corporate Social Responsibility) and have varied experience working with young people from a range of educational phases. If you have never recruited a graduate or student before our team can advise where to begin, how to advertise, how to develop a presence on campus and provide assistance if you are considering setting up a graduate training scheme. I have 19 years experience arranging a wide variety of events in different contexts: conferences, training events and programmes, networking events, student events, activities and enrichment, enterprise activities, education-business link events, skills fairs and more.I also possess managerial, budgetary, project management and teaching experience. I am an experienced and competent presenter and trainer.Since September 2024 I have been Vice President of Graduate Futures Institute, the expert membership organisation for higher education student career development and graduate employment professionals.
