ABOUT JAQUES BOTHA

With almost two decades worth of experience leading cross-functional technical and product teams, I have built, scaled, and modernized digital platforms across marketing, cloud infrastructure, and SaaS industries. As the former founder and managing director of a full-service software and cloud solutions company, I led distributed engineering teams and oversaw the design, development, and deployment of robust, scalable web platforms and infrastructure. My leadership focused on technical delivery, architectural direction, and aligning product capabilities with client needs, resulting in consistent project success and long-term partnerships. Today, I serve as Chief Technology Officer at SpikeFli, where I am responsible for the full technical roadmap, including platform modernization, system architecture, and internal team growth. While the current platform is built on a legacy VB.NET stack, my mandate is to guide the transition toward a modern, scalable architecture using technologies like Blazor, React, and cloud-native infrastructure. I bring a practical, execution-driven mindset to high-stakes environments, with experience managing both legacy systems and modern full-stack development across platforms such as Azure, Firebase.NET, React, Tailwind, and TypeScript. During the pandemic, I co-founded a cloud-based management solution tailored for the self-storage and property sectors. Built on Blazor Server and integrated with Stripe Custom Connect, it reflects my ability to turn emerging technologies into real-world business platforms with stable, scalable infrastructure. I also run a technical education and consulting platform under the JCBCB brand, including a growing YouTube channel and direct consulting engagements focused on practical development, infrastructure scaling, and product strategy.
