ABOUT JACQUELYN COVINGTON

I’m Jacquelyn Covington, LCSW-C, a licensed clinical social worker with over eight years of experience across outpatient mental health, behavioral health integration, and private practice settings. I currently serve adults throughout Maryland via virtual therapy while continuing my work within an OMHC, where I provide comprehensive, evidence-based mental health care to individuals with diverse and often complex clinical needs. My clinical work is grounded in thorough diagnostic assessment and treatment planning using DSM-5-TR criteria. I specialize in conducting biopsychosocial evaluations, risk and safety assessments, and ongoing outcome monitoring to support accurate diagnosis and individualized care. I have extensive experience managing complex caseloads and working within insurance-based systems while maintaining high clinical and documentation standards, including COMAR compliance.Previously, I served in a behavioral health integration leadership role, collaborating closely with psychiatry, medical providers, and interdisciplinary teams to develop programs, train staff, and deliver integrated behavioral health services across long-term care settings. This experience strengthened my ability to think systemically, clinically, and ethically while balancing quality care with operational demands.Across all settings, my approach is trauma-informed, collaborative, and client-centered, informed by CBT, mindfulness-based interventions, and strengths-based care. I am deeply committed to providing thoughtful, ethical, and clinically sound therapy while creating a space that is both supportive and appropriately challenging, empowering clients to build insight, resilience, and lasting change.
