   As the founder of the MAU Foundation, created in honor of my late husband Mauricio “Mau” Saavedra, I transformed personal tragedy into a mission of service. I lead efforts to support families in crisis by connecting those who can give with those in need.Key Contributions:• Established and grew the Foundation from a grassroots effort into a recognized nonprofit lifeline in South Florida.• Built partnerships with grocery stores, faith-based groups, and community organizations to provide weekly food distributions and essential items.• Launched and continue to lead annual community initiatives including Back-to-School Backpack Drives, Thanksgiving Food Drives, Holiday Toy Drives, and Easter Basket Giveaways.• Mobilized volunteers and donors across Miami-Dade and Broward, creating multiple drop-off sites and opportunities for direct community impact.• Opened the Foundation’s first brick-and-mortar donation and resource center in Cutler Bay, FL, expanding services to thousands of families.• Currently overseeing the expansion into Liberty City, one of Miami’s most underserved communities.Through my role, I strive to ensure no family faces hardship alone, and to turn compassion into lasting change.
