About Jacky So
After overseeing cross-functional technical departments & client programs in digital health delivery nationwide over these past few years, I’m open to new opportunities, industries, & friendly chats about what building a better future could look like: more inclusive, cross-collaborative \"third places\", & with responsible AI.My Northern Star in life is doing work that bridges equity & moves communities forward together. The common thread in everything I do is from the perspective of a community builder–whether that’s in behind-the-scenes work to build human-centered tech, mentoring/leading neurodiverse teams, or launching innovative zero-to-one programs that infuse the “people experience” back into an increasingly digital world.During the pandemic, I helped build a new software startup as part of the core team to project manage time-sensitive gaps in the marketplace, often serving as the go-to “Jacky of All Trades”. I\'ve led 150+ agile software development projects-collaborating with community clinics, universities, commercial & public health labs, nursing homes, corporations, cities, counties, states, & government entities–all while supervising 15-30 entry-to-mid-level staff within their technical areas of expertise on any given day.I sincerely believe the successful results of my leadership philosophy & zero-to-one program launches are because I never want others to feel invisible in the data like I did growing up. It’s going to take all of us to build a better world, & we need to do it together.Happy to connect! Let’s partner up. 🤝Jacky A bit about me:I studied Poli Sci, Bio, & Business in University & specialized in pattern morphology detection research as a non-traditional grad student at a med school in Biomedical Sciences. Complacency is not a trait I have, & I’ve always pushed myself to rethink how I could use limited resources to achieve more for those around me. For example: I brought an automated pdf generator to market by getting buy-in on the idea from clients & colleagues, then coded the first customizable versions & trained others to reproduce the method so patients would not have to wait an unknown amount of time for personalized reports. Together, this has been used over 1 million times for diverse community needs. If you’d like to read more on why I’m so passionate about building solutions with a ground-up lens (instead of the top-down approach), you might be interested in my Medium article, “You don’t exist if you aren’t in the data”: https://medium.com/@thejackyso/asians-deserve-visibility-in-data-77d8f1b4f7c4

Grow with us! Launched our first-ever city website for our Asian Pacific Islander Native Hawaiian (APINH) community and our own free digital magazine: HONOR Magazine.• Visit our new digital home: cabq.gov/apinh• Subscribe to HONOR Magazine to support our work (you\'ll instantly receive the first issue): bit.ly/honor-magazine-subscribe-Why HONOR Magazine?• Our vision is to create a digital \"third place\" that helps people move from online to in-real-life: a hub that amplifies APINH voices, shares stories, connects residents to local resources, circulates local dollars, and helps shape city data to reflect our community\'s real needs-About Project BRIDGE (Building Resilient Infrastructure for Data, Growth, & Engagement):APINH is Albuquerque\'s fastest-growing demographic, representing 62-74 countries and a high rate of business ownership, but we have historically been treated as a monolith. We\'re doing something special in Albuquerque by building a city platform *with community* that enables us to be visible in the data and learn how we should be shaping city resources to reflect the needs of our community\'s future.• Project BRIDGE amplifies APINH voices, connects residents to resources, circulates local dollars, counters misinformation, and guides people from online to real-world third places.• With continued investment, Project BRIDGE can scale into a citywide model to connect cultural communities, improve data access, and build resilience against misinformation as AI and automation reshape public services.• Our new digital hub also enables us to bring in new audiences and capacity-build both in and beyond Albuquerque by navigating how financial empowerment and Justice40 impacts our diaspora.More to come! The work does not end with an event. We are establishing a community-empowered end-to-end resource and data pipeline.
