WORK HISTORY
Educator, Speaker and Coach @Great Parenting Simplified Nonprofit Cooperative
Jacqueline Green specializes in helping women see that no matter how hard things are in their relationship right now, they can use their exact situation as a stepping stone to the life they want. She learned to mine her challenges for the gold they contain as part of navigating a marriage that included taking her two kids, then 1 and 3 years old, to an emergency shelter to stop the escalating physical violence in her home. Although her journey included many other lowlights including bankruptcy and more serious safety concerns when she left for good 14 years later, she is grateful for the uniquely powerful opportunities to learn and grow that resulted from her exact situation. She is happier, healthier and much more peaceful than she was before her first marriage, despite it seeming to be a bad one. She loves nothing better than to help others to find this path that is always available to us, no matter what our circumstances. Some of Jacqueline’s career successes include starting the Great Parenting Show, the world’s first online parent expert interview series in 2010. Since then, she has worked with over 150 of the world’s top parenting-related experts. Her firsthand experience with clinical mental illness and a very challenging home environment gives struggling parents hope. Now she is writing her long-awaited book, Strong Enough to Stay: Work it Out or Leave Happy. She also loves to inspire women in their work roles to find a third path rather than passively staying in a situation that isn’t ideal or leaving for greener pastures. So much learning and growth can happen before walking out the door, and often, we are stronger and more able to create the life we want by working on things before we leave. Of course, where safety concerns are present, she advises people to get help immediately, which is why she took her kids to the emergency shelter and stayed apart for 4 months before reconciling for 14 years.
