TA for ARCH 211: Materials and Methods of Building ConstructionThis course introduces materials and their assembly as an inextricable consideration of architectural design. Through a series of focused studies of specific material and building systems, the course examines the implication of material characteristics, technical performance, and architectural expression in the making of buildings.By the end of this course, students will be able to:1) Identify the primary characteristics and components of material systems.2) Compare the possibilities and limitations of different material systems.3) Produce technical architectural drawings of typical material assemblies.4) Propose and document through drawing a distinct material strategy for a design project.
