ABOUT JACQUELINE GALLO
I’m an educational leader, anthropologist of education, and writer committed to advancing educational equity through research, storytelling, and leadership service. With more than two decades of experience spanning K-12 and higher education across continents, my work is grounded in a belief that every human being deserves educational justice and that research should be both rigorous and accessible to the masses.I earned my PhD at the University of Cambridge, where I studied how faith, education, and culture shape the capability development of young women, the 1% of girls in Karamoja, Uganda who will complete a secondary education. My academic work draws on ethnography and qualitative methods, with particular expertise in girls\' education, Catholic religious schooling, agropastoralist communities, and the Capabilities Approach. Now, I’m focused on expanding the impact of my research through writing and storytelling - translating academic insights into accessible narratives that reach broader audiences. I believe in democratizing knowledge and using compelling storytelling to connect research to real people, policies, and practices.I have extensive experience across K-12 and higher education in independent, international, public, and charter schools as well as universities and nonprofits. Previous institutions include at the University of Cambridge, University of Oxford, The Varkey Foundation, Covenant University (Nigeria), The Presentation School (California) Cambridge International School (UK), and the American Overseas School of Rome (Italy). I’ve lived and worked across English, Spanish, Italian, Nilotic, and Swahili-speaking communities and traveled to over 50 countries across six continents.Whether leading teams, teaching students, mentoring scholars, writing for impact, or speaking to inspire, I bring cultural fluency, strategic clarity, and deep human care to every space I enter.Learn more about my work at https://bio.site/jgallovanting and can be great, because everybody can serve.\" – Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
