ABOUT JACQUELINE PEREZ

I\'m a fourth-year student pursuing a B.A. in Psychological Science at the University of California, Irvine. I am passionate about mental health and am on the path to becoming a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). My ultimate career goal is to support children, adolescents, and emerging adults navigating mental health challenges such as mood disorders, personality disorders, trauma, and abuse. I\'m very interested in integrating psychology and neurobiology to create a more dimensional, personalized approach to patient care. I believe understanding how the brain and behavior connect is essential to providing individualized support. I hope to continue growing and expanding my knowledge through clinical experience and research opportunities, to be a resource for individuals as an informed therapist.Currently, I work as a Behavior Technician directly with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. I implement Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapy intervention strategies to help clients build skills in communication, social development, and emotional regulation. My experience over the past two years has strengthened my passion for child development and the mental health field.
