Edison Engineer Development Program Intern @GE HealthCare

View department →

Waukesha, WI, US

During my internship with the Global Labs Team at GE HealthCare, I worked on projects that supported the company’s mission to improve lives through innovation and collaboration. I ran seismic simulations to evaluate the structural integrity of patient tables, focusing on how different components responded to dynamic loads, and ensuring the assemblies met safety standards. I collaborated with Nuclear Medicine engineers to refine contact definitions in the seismic models, improving the accuracy of how the system would behave under real-world earthquake conditions. I also analyzed the natural frequencies and resonance behavior of CT gantries, identifying sources of unwanted noise and suggesting design changes to reduce vibration. Using ICEPAK, I ran thermal simulations of PCB assemblies to visualize airflow and temperature distribution, helping identify thermal performance issues.
