ABOUT JACQUELINE BASHFORD
Associate Regional General Counsel with a career spanning FMCG, tech and media. Extensive experience with end-to-end international commercial contracting, including sales, procurement, R&D, manufacturing, licensing, hardware & software and goods & services. Expertise includes legal transformation, IPR, data, technology and risk. I author In-House IRL - a mini-series unpacking the unexpected twists of in-house legal life - from curveball clauses to complex stakeholder dynamics. From “what now?” to “here’s how”, combining legal insight with commercial strategy to make confident business decisions. My leadership style is human and authentic, grounded in curiosity, emotional intelligence, and a keen interest in how people tick. I believe great legal advice is as much about understanding the humans in the room as it is about understanding the contract on the table.I’m enthusiastic about the potential for AI and technology solutions for in-house counsel, but still waiting to be properly impressed. I’m a founding member of WAVE (Women and Allies with a Vision for Equality), an employee led movement which aims to make Elekta UK a place where women are represented, valued and supported, and where allies help drive meaningful change. I strongly believe that those who have a voice have a responsibility to amplify those who feel they do not. As a mum of two, I’m passionate about improving the parental leave and return-to-work journey. I’ve had great experiences, but I know the system isn’t built for everyone. I want to be part of changing these experiences for the better, and so I’m delighted that under WAVE I’ve secured access to an incredible programme of parental leave support and resource for Elekta colleagues and managers. Outside of work and mum life I’m a keen hockey player for my local club (that’s field hockey for my US friends )I\'d love to connect with legal peers, working parents, and anyone who has found an AI tool that actually gets how we work. I used to be known as Jacqueline Killick. Any views expressed are my own, and very probably fuelled by coffee and not quite enough sleep.
