About Jacob Spinelli

I am a certified health coach & mental health first aid provider with the experience of serving 3 years with Mabuhay Health Center Youth Programs Committee, 1 year as Co-Director of Public Health, and 2 years as Co-Director of Behavioral Health. I\'ve lead committees of health coaches to meet and exceed our goals as an organization. As an Exercise Biology B.S, I have intensively studied the pathways of prevention and treatment of hypokinetic diseases via exercise and would be able to suggest and develop exercise plans as a way that patients could improve their condition. I also contribute to public health education by holding exercise, nutrition and healthy living workshops in the SOMA community. Through prior studies in pharmacology I am able to appreciate and understand the pharmaceutical aspect of being a health care provider and I also have the skills to be able to communicate the importance of medicine to the patient. I also help my grandparents and family members along their journey dealing with their respective medical issues. I aspire to help with disaster relief, the underserved, disadvantaged and homeless around the world and in my community. I aim to use the best points of every aspect of my life to better the world and help lower health disparities within not only Filipino American communities, but all underserved. Since 2004, I’ve been involved with various youth groups throughout Vallejo’s religious, Filipino & underserved communities. I have extensive retreat, event, food and fundraiser preparation experience. Computer technical skills including Microsoft Office, photoshop, computer repairs and hardware upgrades. I have learned the importance of team work and leadership through over 10+ years of organized sport and have applied that to grow at the medical and scholastic levels. I am a leader by example, a boundless believer of love and peace, and an advocate of equality across all facets.
