I chose nursing because it aligns with my strong desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others and it allows me to combine my love for medicine with my innate compassion for people. My journey towards nursing began during my time as a medical scribe in interventional cardiology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California, where I witnessed firsthand the transformative power of healthcare. Working alongside dedicated healthcare professionals, I was exposed to the intricate details and complexities of medicine. Witnessing the interplay between medical professionals and patients in vulnerable moments sparked a profound desire within me to actively participate in healing others. Now as a Master’s-prepared Registered Nurse at NewYork-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center in Manhattan, New York, my personal characteristics of empathy, resilience, adaptability, and strong communication skills allows me to connect deeply with patients while providing exceptional care.
