I am a professional writer, editor, and researcher with a Master of Arts degree in Professional Writing and a Bachelor of Science degree in Media & Entertainment, as well as three post-baccalaureate certificates. My academic and professional trajectory reflects a sustained interest in how meaning is constructed across media and how emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, are reshaping writing, authorship, and communication.My undergraduate training has grounded me in media analysis, narrative theory, visual rhetoric, and audience reception. Through coursework in film studies, media production, and an internship in athletic communications, I developed a critical understanding of storytelling, framing, and genre. These skills continue to inform my approach to writing and editing. Studying film and media taught me to think structurally, to analyze how form influences interpretation, and to recognize how technological tools shape creative and rhetorical outcomes.Building on that foundation, my graduate work focused on applied writing, professional editing, publishing, and AI-mediated composition. Rather than isolated assignments, my program emphasized sustained, project-based research. I conducted applied case studies examining AI-assisted writing across reflective, professional, creative, and multimodal genres, with particular attention to prompt design, iteration, tone control, and ethical boundaries. These projects were designed not to automate writing, but to evaluate how writers can collaborate with AI while retaining voice, agency, and accountability. I analyzed how interface design, defaults, and system responses influence writer decision-making, authority, and trust. My projects consistently emphasized transparency, bias awareness, and human oversight, positioning AI as a support mechanism rather than an authorial replacement. My reputation as a presenter has also grown from my research, including state and national-level conferences.I also bring strong editorial training grounded in rhetorical revision, audience awareness, and clarity-driven feedback. I approach editing as a collaborative process that strengthens structure, coherence, and purpose without erasing the writer’s voice.
