About Jacob Weger

Environmental anthropologist, educator, and applied researcher with over a decade of experience in climate adaptation, environmental governance, and sustainability. Skilled in program development, stakeholder engagement, grant management, and science communication. In my current role as Program Director and Lecturer in Environmental Studies at Seton Hall University, I lead interdisciplinary environmental programming that integrates climate change, environmental justice, and community engagement. I have built partnerships with NGOs, local organizations, and municipal agencies and facilitated public-facing dialogues with scientists, activists, and community leaders.Throughout my career, I have worked to bridge rigorous social science with applied, real-world practice, with an emphasis on equity, environmental justice, and attention to unintended consequences. My doctoral research examined climate adaptation governance in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta and the Netherlands, tracing how global climate knowledge is translated into local practice, and combining qualitative and quantitative methods to assess how climate interventions shape livelihoods, land use, and long-term resilience. Highly collaborative, I am a skilled communicator, multilingual, and with extensive international and cross-cultural experience. I’m looking to expand my knowledge and network in applied research, philanthropy, and program manager related roles. Please connect with me here: j••••••••@gmail.com
