About Jacob Weaver
Jacob discovered his passion for mentoring, entrepreneurship, and realestate development after losing his eye to a drive-by shooting when he was fifteen years old. As a result, he started investing into realestate and founded a mentoring and leadership development organization that evolved into Advertise for America (AFA). AFA is a full-service advertising agency specializing in video production and mentoring. Jacob now owns and manages short-term rental properties all over the country and is currently developing his hospitality brands and eco-resorts in the Adirondacks, Poconos, Montana, Rhode Island & Puerto Rico.Jacob served as the Founding Head of School at Fusion Academy Hingham, Executive Director at RIA Global Education as well as a teacher, mentor, and coach at private, public, and charter schools in NY. Jacob earned his master’s degree in education administration from Providence College where he served as the Multicultural Student Affairs Graduate Assistant and was awarded a scholarship to conduct research with Fulbright Scholars in Bangladesh. While completing his graduate degree, Jacob also served as the Rhode Island Field Director for the Horatio Alger Scholarship Association, teacher and mentor for the Woonsocket School District, Research Fellow for the Paul V. Sherlock Center on Disabilities, Women’s Basketball Coach for Rhode Island College, Advisor for the Global Shapers (Providence Hub), Executive Committee Member for the United Way Young Leaders Circle, and a College Leadership Rhode Island (CLRI) Fellow. Jacob received a Leadership Scholarship for the Brown University Executive MBA Program in partnership with IE in Madrid and completed the Goldman Sachs 10KSB Program which he was selected for due to his success in the international education sector. He also served as a board member and mentor for Rhode Islander’s Sponsoring Education (RISE) which provides scholarships for students with incarcerated parents as well as an executive consultant for multiple international education organizations. Jacob received his Bachelor of Science in Education Degree from the State University of New York at Cortland, where he was selected to present his research at regional, state, and national conferences. Fun Facts: Jacob’s high school named an annual award after him for overcoming adversity and inspiring others, and he has traveled the world directing and producing videos for organizations such as The Nature Conservancy. Jacob enjoys spending time with his family and friends, traveling to experience different cultures, and ghostwriting lyrics.
