Systematic care process and patient/family education- Assists in advanced procedures, prepares supplies, and provides support- Generalized patient care tasks (vital signs, feeding, mobility, etc.)- Uses specialized equipment when needed- Prepares and cleans exam rooms, treatment areas, and stretchers- Transports patients; cleans assigned clinic area; assists in discharge- Maintains supplies and equipment inventory, orders, stocks, and rotates- Assists with office duties (answering rescue radio, taking notes)- Follows unit-specific policies, procedures, and competencies- Uses job-specific equipment as required- Responds to department codes (code blue, stroke, heart, etc.)- Starts IV lines, obtains and sends bloodwork to laboratory, assists nurses in administration of IV fluids/medications- Assists with compressions and other relevant BLS duties on cardiac arrest patients- Triages and responsible for accurate electronic patient information documentation- Maintains patient (and patient information) privacy under HIPAA guidelines- Participates in volunteering and public health awareness through hospital health promotion and awareness events- Responsible for stabilization of fractures and sprains- Responsible for wound care and dressing.
