As a chemical engineer who has learned so much in the last two years, I am nothing if not eager to gain both a deeper understanding of the day to day operations of an engineer, but also to put my newfound knowledge to the test in a corporate environment. With my interest in the field, as well as specific interpersonal and technical skills, I have no doubt that I will be a valuable intern for your company.I think that it would be an amazing opportunity to work with a diverse team of driven individuals, state of the art equipment, and contribute to the precision it takes to keep customers satisfied. I would love to see the connections between my organic chemistry or mass balances classes and a real life work environment while also learning lessons that I don’t have the opportunity to learn in a classroom.My strong interpersonal skills allow me to encourage collaboration among all members of my team to achieve their greatest ability by creating an open forum of conversation about the problem at hand. I often take specific aspects of multiple ideas to form one cohesive solution. While working on the chip bag design project, I evaluated multiple prototypes on a weighted decision matrix to analyze which parts of each prototype were favorable. I then worked with my team to synthesize a new hybrid prototype with the best aspects of each and wrote a formal report on the process. I believe that the most impactful learning comes from your peers which is why being able to work with an established scientist is an ideal environment to learn professional skills which I will take with me throughout my career.
