ABOUT JACOB MASON

I am an urban planner and engineer very interested in cities, with a particularly in issues relating to transportation and land use. Cities have been shown over and over to be the most efficient, healthy, and vibrant forms of settlement. My goal is to help create cities that allow people to easily walk, bike, and take transit to get to their destinations. I hope to help create affordable neighborhoods with a variety of job opportunities. I hope to create a sense of place in each area, where people take ownership for their neighborhood. I am a strong supporter of the liveable streets movement and transit-oriented development. I have experience in transportation studies, design, and implementation, with a special interest in active transportation. As part of my work in transportation, I performed many community workshops and outreach sessions. I\'ve worked closely with elected officials on a variety of projects from planning to implementation. From my work in housing development and finance, I have experience creating and evaluating project pro formas.
