Jacob is a results-driven, nationally recognized healthcare executive with extensive experience in hospital operations, organizational leadership, and strategic administration.He currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Kaiser Permanente San Leandro Medical Center, where he recently received National Recognition by Becker’s Healthcare as a “Rising Star” under 40. Within Kaiser Permanente, he sits on variety of Councils at both the Regional and National level, including the National Kaiser Workplace Violence Prevention Council, Kaiser Northern California Regional LMP Council, and Chairs the Kaiser Northern California Regional COO Community of Practice. Previously, Jacob was the COO of San Joaquin General Hospital, a public teaching hospital with an annual budget of $440 million, supporting 2,400 employees and 500 physicians. Prior to that, he served as CEO of Kindred Hospital San Francisco Bay Area.In addition to his executive role, Jacob served as Adjunct Faculty at NYU for 7 years (20••••26), where he taught a graduate-level course, “Managing Healthcare Organizations.” Outside of hospital operations and teaching, Jacob enjoys speaking on a variety of leadership and industry topics. Jacob holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Davis, and earned his first master’s degree in Public Administration with a focus in Healthcare Services Administration from USC. He later obtained a second master’s degree in Public Health from UC Berkeley, and completed advanced training in Crisis & Change Management at Harvard University.In 2025, Jacob was selected for Kaiser Permanente’s Strategic Leadership Program (SLP) in partnership with Cornell University.
