ABOUT JACOB GEHTMAN
I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Brandeis University with a dual BS/MS degree in biochemistry on the premedical track, and am working as a research technician in the Walensky Lab at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. With nearly four years of basic research experience and a strong background in the biological sciences, I am pursuing a career in the biomedical and healthcare fields. I have a broad skill set both in and outside of a wet lab setting, including gel electrophoresis, PCR and RT-qPCR, DNA and RNA extraction, protein purification and SDS-PAGE, behavioral assays with simple model organisms, as well as experience with experimental design and scientific writing. I also have a rich volunteering background in a wide array of environments - ranging from a nursing home to a hospital setting. This experience has helped shape my interpersonal and communication skills, giving me a first-hand perspective on patient care.
