ABOUT JACOB FAGAN
Jacob is the Offshore Wind Advisory Lead in the Americas, with over 12 years of offshore wind and renewables experience. He is responsible for delivering technical due diligence reviews for offshore wind projects in the Americas and supports the onshore wind and solar teams in delivery and execution. He is a Chartered engineer with the Institution of Civil Engineers (CEng MICE). Jacob has managed over 6 GW of offshore wind technical due diligence projects, including a successful acquisition due diligence for Formosa 2 in Taiwan, a vendor’s due diligence for a UK offshore wind farm, and acquisition due diligence for two separate development-stage offshore wind projects in the NY Bight. He was responsible for reviewing the civil and life extension technical documentation, and supply contract reviews for Vineyard Wind IE role along with construction monitoring site visits for the foundations. He has also reviewed life extension documentation for a 2.4 GW UK operational portfolio located in the UK. Jacob has project managed over 11 GW of renewables projects, including IE/LTA, M&A, and tax equity due diligence for multiple onshore wind and solar/BESS projects in Canada and the US. Jacob has extensive experience reviewing civil design reviews for onshore and offshore projects, construction contracts, schedules, operational contracts, life extension measures, and financial models. He can clearly and concisely define technical risks for financiers to understand the underlying risk to costs and/or schedule. Jacob began his career with Ramboll designing foundations for major offshore wind farms in the UK, Europe, and America where he gained experience in primary steel design, secondary steel design, scour design, design risk assessments and fabrication queries. He has prepared design basis documents and design briefs and has a good understanding of metocean requirements for foundation design. Jacob holds a Master’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Cardiff University, Wales. Jacob’s background in structural engineering provides him with a broad range of technical awareness within the offshore wind industry.
