Lead and conduct basic and applied research on the capabilities of dual-polarization and phased array radar observations and numerical weather prediction and cloud models to advance our understanding of cloud-scale microphysical processes, severe convection, and winter storms- Collaborate with scientists and engineers within NOAA labs, centers for operational implementation, and universities to support the assimilation of dual-polarization radar data into numerical weather prediction models and operational systems such as Warn-on-Forecast- Publish results in peer-reviewed journals, present at domestic and international conferences, and mentor undergraduate and graduate students- Serve as the Team Lead for the Data Assimilation and Modeling team within NSSL\'s Innovation, Modeling, Prediction, Application, Communication, and Testbeds branch.
