The Optomechanical Design Engineer IV (previously Sr. Opto-Mechanacial Design Engineer; title updates June 2023) has experience developing and drafting mechanical designs for optical components, subassemblies, and related instruments. This design position incorporates design and tolerancing for internal product development, external customers, and related tooling/fixturing needs-Execute opto-mechanical designs for complex internal product development and external customers-Evaluate and tolerance designs in conjunction with the optical designer-Develop technical drawings with appropriate tolerancing per ASME and ISO standards-Present results of designs and analysis of performance for internal product developtment and external customers-Execute design reviews for peer projects -Develop tools and procedures for design and analysis-Regularly participate in internal training, development, and mentorship of earlier career designers-Regularly promote company expertise externally via publications, volunteer roles, participation in webinars, or other external media/events-Support internal technical training efforts -Support document controlOpto-Mechanical Team Lead-Responsible for loading distribution of Opto-Mechanical Engineers and Drafters-Screen tickets/projects/ECNs and ensure all relevant information is present then assign according to loading and expertise-Manage internal Design and Drafting Manuals-Aid in generation and implementation of onboarding content and internal trainings-Aid in generation and implementation of various internal processes/procedures-Aid in management of PDM vault
