Utilized PyAnsys (Ansys API for Python) to drive component design study and provide ~10x time savings in processing of results from batched simulation runs in Ansys. Implemented an algorithm to determine optimal gear crowning geometry based on minimizing the load distribution factor.Modified legacy stress models written in the Ansys Parametric Design Language (APDL) to accommodate irregular geometries and provide design recommendations. Performed extensive analysis to provide guidance to the Navy on the repair of the wingfold mechanism of F-18 aircraft after material gouging was discovered over their service lives.Managed a team of members from design, drafting, supply chain, and quality to perform a comprehensive evaluation of all ~250 bearings used at Moog to resolve any discrepancies with bearing suppliers and update drawings as necessary.
