ABOUT JACLYN MCJUNKIN
Joyfully combatting injustice: that\'s the purpose statement for my life. I want the hours I work to be in service to people and improving their communities. Currently, I ecstatically serve as Project Coordinator & Director of Engagement at FluxWorks LLC. I started teaching 15 years ago and quickly realized I needed to expand my experiences. Since then, I spent 5 years in the US Army as an Airborne Psychological Operations Analyst for Special Operations Command. My deployments were to the Embassies of Colombia(6 months), of Paraguay(7 months), and of the Dominican Republic(1 year). My team and I coordinated with the Embassy Country Team to execute the key elements of target audience analysis and influencing behavior. With Ambassador/DCM cooperation and approval, our teams designed, developed, disseminated, and evaluated over twenty different media campaigns throughout the years. These included: thirty radio scripts, hundreds of handbills, hundreds of thousands of air dropped leaflets, and at least thirty billboards. Upon completing my military contract I used my GI Bill to enhance my studies by getting a second Bachelors in Sociology. That took me to a study abroad in Australia. During my stay in Sydney, I also completed a Master in International Relations at the University of New South Wales. This led to a position as a Donor Care Representative with Australia for UNHCR. While there, I assisted with processing over 38 million dollars in donations and maintained excellent donor support using Raisers Edge. I returned to Texas in 2018 in search of tacos (ok, I guess I missed my family too) and worked as an Executive Assistant to the Director for External Relations at the Texas Workforce Commission. In May 2023 I completed a Master of Public Service Administration from Texas A&M Bush School of Government with one Certificate in Public Management as well as a second Certificate in Advanced International Affairs-Intelligence Studies. Additionally, I served on the Bush School of Government Ambassadors Council and as a member of Delta Company in the Corps of Cadets veterans detachment. In March of 2023 I began volunteering as the Lead in Amnesty International\'s Texas Task Force for Refugee and Migrant Rights.
