Responsible for assisting the Director of Human Resources in the development, planning, implementation and administration of all aspects of human resources for the company (union and non-union environment)-Supports the Director in identifying legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance-Recruitment – Post ads and coordinate with staffing agencies and employment vendors as needed. Work with supervisors in the recruitment, interviewing, testing, selection and hiring of non-union employees-Plan and conduct new employee and benefit orientations; supports supervisors in developing effective supervisory orientations and general onboarding-Develop and maintain an employee skill and cross-training database-Consult with supervisors in areas such as performance management, performance review, harassment, and discrimination prevention-Assist Director in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues, including performance management/corrective action issues, investigations, etc-Assist Director in implementing new performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within the organization-Administers employee benefits programs. Researches, solicits proposals, and recommends program changes-Maintains HRI system and process administrative payroll-Serves as back-up for workers compensation benefits administration-Supervises temporary summer staff-Supports achievement of the company’s organizational goals and objectives by being cross trained and cross training others to increase knowledge and ability to perform different tasks.
