About Jackie Young
When I was little I was that kid that asked “why?” incessantly until I was satisfied that I understood. Though I’ve grown a bigger vocabulary and the ability to ask a more pointed question, that still remains true. Every day I want to understand why. Why we’ve made a decision. Why we operate a certain way. Why we’ve chosen the path that we have. Before I make a decision I want to understand how we got there and the impact a process change will have. I love what I do and who I do it with, and the best part of my job is helping engineer processes that are efficient and creative in solving the needs of our internal and external customers. I am not afraid of a good challenge and relish the opportunity to take something apart to put it back together better than I found it. It is one of my core beliefs that laughter is essential to a productive workplace. Of course, there is a time and place, but spend 10 minutes with me and I’m sure to make a joke to lighten the mood. When I’m not working, I’m thinking about work, and when I’m not doing that you can find me reading a good book in a faraway place.
