Big Screen Symposium is a two day event that brings the screenmakers of Aotearoa together. When it first started, I was programme manager - 2012 and 2013 - and then again in 2017 and 2018 Since 2020 I have been a director of the company and have overseen the delivery of all aspects of the event. It is a pleasure to work on, and attend!

ABOUT JACKIE DENNIS
Hi! I am the Executive Director at Script to Screen, a charitable organisation that supports New Zealand screen practitioners to tell exceptional stories for the screen. We develop and deliver a range of programmes, events and opportunities for writers, producers and directors. These programmes help progress both talent and stories for the screen, drawing on local and international filmmakers who are leaders in their field to be speakers, mentors and advisors. I am also a Director of the company Big Screen Symposium Limited, and the Programme Leader of the Big Screen Symposium event. We will deliver the 10th Big Screen Symposium in 2024. My recent achievements include -Creating a Script Development Service for the Aotearoa screen industry to access a curated list of script developers -Leading the Script to Screen committee to create a Diversity, Equality and Inclusion Strategy -Establishing Awhi: Peer to Peer Conversations for Script to Screen alumni to support each other 20••••23 I was one of four selectors for films funded under Kōpere Hou - Fresh Shorts and this work is ongoing.
