ABOUT JACK GRIFFITHS

Siemens - switchgear, site services (including installation and commissioning), Digital Grid technology (protection, control, SCADA etc) IoT/Digitalisation and all things power.So, as my headline suggests, I became a dad at the end of 2018 and again at the beginning of 2022 and I’m loving every minute of it (except maybe the lack of sleep!). Unfortunately for them, they have no choice in hearing about all things “power” related. Luckily for me though, they realise just how interesting it actually is!Joking aside though, I do thoroughly enjoy talking about power systems and I relish the opportunity to support and educate clients to make their new projects and concepts a reality. I really enjoy cutting through the buzzwords too and bringing local clarity to global topics.We all have our specialist fields but, from time to time, we just need a little support to make things clearer and this is where I come in.I have cut my teeth in the industry working my way up the voltage levels from Low Voltage (LV) 415V building services switchboards, into Medium Voltage switchgear and also getting to grips with the intricacies of High Voltage switchgear (mainly up to 275kV), although 66-275kV fall outside of my business area now. I am fairly well versed, technically, on all these switchgear types including their protection and control elements and all the Distribution/Power Transformers to match.I have previously created proposals for all the above products/projects as a tendering engineer as well as designing and testing protection and control cubicles to suit.If you are looking at a project and require information or support on any products/services which you think Siemens provide, or maybe you need some ideas on rationalising your existing network, then please feel free to get in touch.
