ABOUT JACKELINNE CLAROS BENITEZ
Of all the forms of inequality, injustice in health is the most shocking and inhumane\"(Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.)I am an MPH student in Public Health Policy at the NYU School of Global Public Health. I am also a proud first-generation college alumna who graduated from Dartmouth College with a BA in Sociology and African & African American Studies. I work at the New York Legal Assistance Group as a paralegal, helping older adults and clients with disabilities navigate Medicaid, Medicare, and long-term benefits such as home care services through counseling and direct advocacy. I have a particular preference for working with minoritized families and wish to pursue a career in civil rights and public health law. My research areas include (inter)generational trauma, mental health, and racial demographics.
