About Jackeline Montalvo
For two decades, Jackeline Montalvo has operated at the intersection of strategy, communications, and social impact to drive equitable outcomes for historically marginalized communities. She is currently the Vice President of Strategic Communications at Heartshare, a nonprofit agency with a century-long legacy of impact in marginalized communities. She previously founded her own consultancy and served as Managing Director of Communications & Brand at DREAM Charter Schools, where she led all facets of external and internal communications strategy to enhance the network’s reputation, grow the student and stakeholder community, strengthen internal culture, and support current and new sources of revenue. During her tenure, DREAM’s annual operating budget grew by 50%, the number of youth served increased by 40%, the organization’s Employee Net Promoter Score went up by 20 points, and the network opened a $50MM school building in the Bronx that Fast Company called “the most stunning school in America.” Prior to DREAM, she served as Head of Marketing & Communications for BRIC, the leading presenter of free cultural and civic action programming in Brooklyn, and inaugurated that same role for Ballet Hispánico, where under her leadership the organization saw double-digit growth in earned revenue for the School of Dance and professional dance company, the latter of which has performed for more than 2.5 million people in three continents and all fifty states. She began her career as an editor, publicist, and chief of staff at Random House, where she was part of the two-person team that transformed the Vintage Español imprint into the leading U.S. Spanish-language book publisher. A native English and Spanish speaker, Jackeline holds an A.B. in Literature from Harvard University, is a 2017 alumna of the American Express Leadership Academy, a 2014 Council of Urban Professionals (CUP) Fellow, and a 2013 fellow of the National Association of Latino Arts and Cultures (NALAC)’s Leadership Institute.Specialties: Inclusive team leader and creative strategist with a strong track record in shaping brand narrative and messaging, multimedia content strategy, fundraising and advertising campaigns, executive positioning and thought leadership, media and donor relations, internal communications and employee engagement, crisis management, Hispanic and multicultural audience engagement, cross-sector partnerships, large-scale events, and organizational strategic planning.
