Assess and manage personal injury claims from initial notification through to settlement. Review accident reports, medical records, and supporting evidence to determine liability and claim validity. Liaise with claimants, solicitors, medical professionals, and other third parties to gather required information. Evaluate compensation levels in line with legal precedents, company guidelines, and industry standards. Negotiate fair settlements with claimants or their representatives to resolve claims efficiently. Identify potential cases of fraud and escalate them for further investigation when appropriate. Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, FCA regulations, and NFU Mutual’s internal policies. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on claim management systems. Communicate complex information clearly and empathetically to customers during what can be a sensitive time. Work collaboratively with colleagues in other departments (e.g, underwriting, risk management, and legal) to ensure consistent service delivery. Contribute to the continuous improvement of claims handling processes and best practices. Meet individual and team performance targets for quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction. Stay informed on changes in personal injury law, insurance regulations, and case law affecting claims handling.
