Supermarket e-commerce transformation (Substitutions): Led a team of 3 data scientists, mentoring them through their ideation, EDA, data modelling and feature engineering to deliver POC’s for: Neo4j node similarity recommender, semantic text similarity recommender, and supervised similarity prediction recommender. The final design led to a 20% improvement in coverage. Devised and successfully pitched a strategic blueprint to the client to significantly increase coverage and reduce substitution costs through machine learning. Defined a project scope aligned with the clients’ needs and the steps needed the achieve it. Utilized PySpark on Azure Databricks to develop and deploy a novel, cost-saving, and highly available recommendation system for supermarket substitutions, catering to the high demands of the e-commerce platform. Took on data engineering, creating large ETL operations (15GB+), optimizing execution for efficiency.
